I agree with needing to make predictions. Its especially helpful when there is some skin in the game, may it be money or the pride of seeing a speculation made in a blog post become reality/ fiction.
Interesting examples of how you won & loss with some of your business predictions. Being close to you in age I remember when a lot of the companies you talk about were hot, until they weren’t anymore. I was pretty good with predicting where the trends were going in the fitness niche we were in.
The problem I often encountered was people wanted what was hot now, which meant what everyone one else was offering. Having vision meant doing things that were considered unconventional and maybe uncool at the moment and that impacted sales sometimes.
