Same idea as my “when life is overwhelming, do the dishes” mentality. If I feel like I haven’t gotten anything done and by ten AM the day is already a wash, I find a task I can accomplish. At home it could be washing a dish or folding towels. At work it could be the most minor of tasks. But it reminds me “hey, you did something”, and then I can just build on that.
The biggest challenge of working for myself was definitely having an inexperienced boss than I didn’t have to listen to.
When I get the blahs, that my signal to continue building up documentation to get the workflow in front of my team. Sometimes improvements pop out at me, afterwards I move on to the next task. Left foot, right foot, go.

Louis Rossman just made a similar video called “Sorting Life Out”. Seems that technology professionals seem to think alike.
